1. 2007 Its been a busy year!
Weve reached the end of another year and Id like to take this
opportunity to thank you all for your custom over the last 12 months and
beyond. 2007 has been a busy year for PlusNet and weve worked hard to
provide you with the best service possible. 2007 saw us celebrate
our 10th birthday, introduce our new range of Broadband Your Way products,
offer a significantly improved home phone service and launch our Community
site! Weve also invested heavily in our network infrastructure and
customer support centre to improve the service that you receive. Weve
never had as many full time staff working in the support centre, making
contacting us easier than ever before. For a detailed look at how
we performed against our Plans for
2007 take the time to read our 2007
summary on the Community site. Please add your comments to the blog to
tell us what you thought about PlusNet during 2007.

2. It pays to recommend PlusNet!
Im delighted to announce that we are extending our current referrals promotion! The current offer was due to end on December 30th but due to popular demand we are going to leave it running until January 31st 2008. This means that you have even longer to recommend your friends and family to PlusNet and earn up to £30 every time you do!
Have a look at this page for more details.
Our Christmas referrals competition to win a £2000 holiday to New York City closed on Monday 10th December and, after a fantastic response, we announced the winner last week. Mr. David Male, a PlusNet customer since 2005, will be taking his fiancée to the Big Apple next year courtesy of PlusNet. Read more about the competition over on the Community site.
2007 has been a busy year for referrals and has seen us run various different promotions and special offers. Since the turn of the year weve paid out a grand total of over £130,000 in referral bounty payments and monthly discounts. Thats not including the New York holiday or the Volkswagen Golf R32 given away earlier in the year!

3. Festive faults
You may have seen some reports in the press recently regarding an increase in broadband problems over the festive period. Increased interference in your house over Christmas can increase the possibility of you experiencing slower speeds or even disconnections.
Christmas lights are one of the main causes of interference but you can minimise the chance of problems without having to turn off your lights.
Read our festive faults blog to get some handy hints on avoiding broadband problems over the holiday period.

This means we will be able to increase our quality of service and offer you a number of product enhancements that have long been promised with the existing service.
For full details of the trial, information on the new features we hope to offer and details of how you can take part have a look at this article on the Community site.

6. Other news
Throughout December weve been publishing a series of festive blogs
covering topics from Christmas food and drink recipes to pantomime
listings. Check out our festive
blog archive for more details.
Weve got 2 months of customer satisfaction scores to catch up on this
month. Novembers
survey revealed 62.9% of respondents were either very satisfied or
extremely satisfied. The upward trend continued into December 64.5% of
respondents giving the top 2 answers. This is the highest score since the
format changed back in May and is a great way to end 2007! You can read
more about Decembers
survey on the Community site.
Theres been lots of talk in the Internet industry recently regarding
copyright issues and illegal downloading. More and more companies are
trying to do more to protect their intellectual property. Weve written a
blog
detailing some of the recent steps taken by games publisher Codemasters to
try and combat this type of activity. It makes pretty interesting
reading!
Once again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everybody here at
PlusNet!
