Welcome to the latest edition of Plus, the
PlusNet newsletter.
Welcome to the PlusNet newsletter for November and December.
This month we've got some statistics that show our support response times are much better than during the summer. The improvements have come through your feedback and the efforts of the PlusNet team. See below for a dedicated report on this.
Also did you know that you can save money by buying online this Christmas? Comparison websites like Froogle allow you to compare prices for big name gifts. The PlusNet shop has a great range of technology products if you're looking for gift ideas.

1. Customer Update
We've been keeping up the pace
on our customer support improvements. If you read
the last couple of newsletters you'll know that
getting our customer service back to award-winning
levels is the top priority for Team PlusNet.
We know how important quality
customer service is to you. It's even more
important if you've recommended our service to
your friends and family.
Read the latest report at our
website. The stats show that it's better today
than during the summer. For example, tickets or
questions are now answered in an average 7 hours
rather than 3 days.
We're pleased to be making
progress but it's not over yet.
We won't stop working at our
customer support until you tell us we're the best
again. That's when we'll know that we're doing it
right. We'll be running a survey later this month
to give you the opportunity to have your say.

2. Email and broadband network update
You can read a couple of
announcements this month about our email service and the broadband network, relating to
what we're doing to continually improve speeds and
reliability for our customers. If you want to ask
any questions about these announcements you'll
find members of the team in our discussion forums

3. Online support update
If you use email (and who
doesn't?) then you can't fail to have noticed the
recent increase in unsolicited email (Spam)
affecting all Internet users. We're updating our
Support Pages to show how you can deal with this
nuisance, as well as pick up some tips about
viruses and how to protect your PC.
Each of our support pages allows you to
'Rate This Page', giving you the chance to review
our help content. We're using your comments to
help us improve and make it easier to find the
information you need.
The recent changes we made to
the Help Assistant have been
generally well received. We made it easier to use
and improved the navigation. We're now applying
the same principles to the Support pages. You
should see the difference from the end of
November.

4. Write an article for the PlusNet website
Is there something you want to
say? Got an opinion, tips or advice you want to
share with your fellow PlusNet customers? If
you've got a passion for anything Internet
related, write an article and send it to us.
Every article published on the
website will enter a vote in our forums to judge
the most popular. The winner of the vote will win
an experience voucher from Red Letter Days for
£250 worth of fun. Red Letter Days have also
offered a 10% discount to all PlusNet
customers.

5. Home phone prize winners
8 lucky customers won a handheld
computer with satellite navigation in our Home
Phone prize draw.
Here's what the winners had to
say about their new toys (sorry, their "essential
communication and navigation tools"):
"The PDA is great, and the sat
nav facility is brilliant. I have just tried it
out on a trip to France.... magnifique!!", Rob
"The prize is fab, thought I was
getting a Sat Nav but it's also a Pocket PC. Many
thanks to all the folks at PlusNet for a great
service and a great prize", Mike
On that subject of Home Phone,
the new Evenings & Weekends package could save
you money compared with the BT equivalent*. £11 a month for line rental and all
landline evening and weekend calls.
* Option 2 at £14.95

6. This month in Internet history
The first ever webpage was
published in November 1992. It was written by Tim
Berners-Lee. He's the guy who's responsible for
the World Wide Web that we use today. Read the first webpage at the W3C
site. It's still available in all its original
glory. Can you spot the spelling mistakes? Some
things never change :)
