Email Settings
The following settings can be used to set up any email program for use with your PlusNet email. If you're looking for help with a specific program, please see our Email Setup Guides.
Email Username & Password
To set up your first Plusnet email address (What's my first Plusnet email address?) if you've created one, use the username and password you log into this website with.
To set up an Additional mailbox (What's an Additional Mailbox?), you'll need to use the mailbox username (in the format username+mailboxname) and password. Check the email we sent after the mailbox was created if you're not sure what these are.
Mail Server Addresses
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.plus.net
- Outgoing Mail Server: relay.plus.net
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) Mail
With IMAP, all email messages are stored on our servers, so you'll see the same messages wherever you log in from.
To use IMAP with your email program, follow the standard instructions but choose IMAP (rather than POP3) as account type and use imap.plus.net as the incoming mail server. Further help on how to use IMAP mail will be available in your email software documentation.
So that you don't use too much storage you should regularly 'spring clean' your email, saving your most important emails to your hard-drive to keep them safe.
